If you have a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation containing charts that use the data from AQX - you are able to export the latest data for that chart is directly to it instead of manually entering the data.

AQX allows for exporting to charts using either the MS PowerPoint 97-2003 (.ppt) format or MS PowerPoint 2007 (.pptx) format, however this export option requires that the slide/s with chart/s are already set up and saved first.

Note: To export from AQX to MS PowerPoint 2007 (.pptx) you must have MS Office 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed on your computer. It will not work with MS Office 2007 SP1 or earlier. If you try to export to MS Office 2007 SP1 or earlier you will get a message as shown below when you pick your .pptx file to export to. Upgrade to SP2 to fix this problem.

Therefore - before you can export to PowerPoint you must have created the chart/s in PowerPoint. Please refer to your MS PowerPoint help for more information on how to create a chart.

ShowMore than one chart in your slide?

If you have more than one chart in a slide - you need to name all the charts within the slide so that the AQX exporter can identify which chart in that slide it is to update.

To Name a Chart:

  1. Go to your data sheet
  2. In the very first cell of your data sheet (top left) add your chart name with two asterixes (**) in front of the name.

For e.g. **Alcohol_Media or **StateByMedia etc

Once the chart is set up and saved - you can export to that chart by following the instructions for PowerPoint export at How to Print/Export.
