To Open a Saved Dictionary Selection:
You can open any saved selection from Supplier, Site, Other User or your own User area.
You can either open it as a Normal Selection or as a Linked Selection.
Opening it as a Normal Selection
If you want to open the saved dictionary selection just double click on it from the saved location in the Slider Bar & it will appear the Selected Pane showing all the items as it was originally selected.
Opening it as a Linked Selection
If you want to use the saved dictionary selection as a Linked selection - click and drag it into the Selected Pane. This will display it in the Selected Pane as the name of your saved selection with
in front to indicate it is a linked selection. The + sign in front of it will allow you to view how the selection was created but you will not be able to amend it. To do so you will need to open it as a normal selection. See above section.

At report time there are a two ways to display your linked selection:
- You can choose to show the linked selection as it was created (which is the default). In this case you just drag it into the Selected Pane and in the report layout all the levels/items within the linked selection will show as created. (Remember - in the Selected Pane the selection will allow you to expand all to show all items BUT you will not be able to modify it here. You will need to open the item directly to do so.)
- OR - - if you would prefer a one line result - once it is dragged into the Selected Pane - right click on the linked selection and uncheck "Show Detail". In the report layout only the name of the selection will appear giving you a one line result.

TIP: Once the linked selection is in the Selected Pane - if you decide you would prefer to make a copy of the items in it so you can make changes - right click on the linked selection and select Unlink and Create Copy. This will display the items as it was created allowing you to make changes to the selection. As you have unlinked the selection, and are not changing the original, this means these changes will apply only to this selection. |

Don't forget that if you open a saved selection from Supplier, Site or another user in Other Users - you will only be able to save those changes as a Save As to your User area. You won't be able to save over the original selection. However if you are a Site Supervisor - you will be able to save over selections Site & Other Users - so please save with care. |
