AQX allows you to not only rank columns but to also rank different rows levels and different sections within the report allowing for much more flexible ranking than has been available before.

An outline of the different types of ranking are listed below.

ShowSimple Column Ranking

If you want to rank a column:

  1. Right click on the column header - this will bring up a menu

If you want to rank the column in ascending order of value (i.e. lowest to highest) see 'Swapping between Descending & Ascending order' below

ShowRank at a specific row level

If you want to rank items within a specified row level on the report layout you can. This is an extension of the 'Rank items within Parent' option that was in previous Landsberry & James software. However this new functionality allows for more flexible ranking at any row level.

For example: you may have Beer and Wine categories broken down by Advertiser in your rows. If you want to rank the top advertiser's within Beer and the top advertiser's within Wine keeping Beer and Wine in order, you can using Rank this level.

To Rank at a specific row level:

  1. Right click over the row level you wish to rank
  2. Select Rank this level

This will automatically rank the first column at that report at the specified row level. This column will be ranked in

  • descending order of value. (i.e. Highest to lowest);
  • will bold the column and row level it is ranking AND
  • will show a rank number in the rows.

    If you want a different column to be ranked, all you need to do is right click on the header of the column you wish to rank and select Rank this column. It will keep the specified row rank and rank the new column according to that.
If you want to rank the column in ascending order of value (i.e. lowest to highest) see 'Swapping between Descending & Ascending order' below
