AQX needs to have a period selection in order to run any report.
Therefore BY DEFAULT current year to date (YTD) will be used if NO other period selection is made. (i.e. if you only want current YTD for you report - you do not need to select this and you can leave the Period Tab Selected Pane blank)
However - should you want something different or if you want something in addition to current YTD - then you will need to make a period selection at the period tab.
There are 2 ways to make a period selection at the period tab by using:
- Actual Periods - uses a specific set date or date range. e.g. 15 January 2009, January to December 2009, Quarter 1 2009 etc. You can also make a selection from a future date (up to 2 years rolling ahead) by utilising the Future Dates functionality.
- Relative Periods - uses a representative time period relative to the end of database date. e.g. Year to Date (YTD), Moving Annual Total (MAT), January -1 (January 1 year back) etc.
When making a selection, AQX is very flexible and allows for:
- selections to be made in either a click or drag mode
- user defined hierarchy groups to be created in the same window as normal selections.
- a group and a selection to be used at the same time.
- selections to be saved for future use
- different saved selections to be linked together and run at once
- saved selections to be added as a Layout Asset in the report layout by dragging them on from the User Files option.

NOTE: you can use a Generic Period in a report - but these are not selected at the Period Tab. Please go to the Report Tab and in Layout Assets Slider button - select the generic period required from beneath Period |
