How to Create a New Day Part Set
When you click in the Day Part tab you will see a tab for each television and radio media type. Within each tab there are 2 options for building a day part. There is the Basic Time Range for selecting a Time From, Time To and days of the week, and also the Visual Daypart consisting of a grid that lists the days of the week across the top and times down the side.

CAUTION: Currently overlapping day parts CANNOT be created in the AQX Day Part tab. If you drag a new day part over an existing one it will remove the times from the previous day part and include them in the new one. |

TIP: Every day part shown in the grid will appear on the report. Therefore only create the day parts in the grid you want to see in that report. |
There are 2 ways to enter a Day part:
1) Using Visual Dayparts
Using the grid by filling in squares with colour allows for very specific day parts to be created, i.e. individual days, Monday to Friday only etc. It also allows for non-continuous day parts to be entered. For example, Off Peak is a non continuous day part as it includes 6am to 5.59pm AND 10.30pm to 5.59am.
To enter a new day part using the grid:
- Click on the tab of the media type required.
- Change the Period Size to be the breakout required. The times down the side can be broken out into a number of different periods from 1 minute up to one hour breakouts. Select the breakout desired.
- Hover the cursor over the grid, then click and drag it over all the cells that make up that day part - it will colour in the squares selected.
- Click Add to add the day part to the selected pane on the right. It can be renamed if required by clicking on it and then typing in a new name.
- Repeat steps 3 & 4 for each day part required. They will be added to the selected pane on the right.

2) Using Basic Time Range
To create a quick day part that covers every day of the week and is continuous, use the Basic Time Range to enter the day part.
To enter a new day part using the Basic Time Range:
- Click on the tab of the media type required
- Change the Period Size to be the breakout required. The times down the side can be broken out into a number of different periods from 1 minute up to one hour breakouts. Select the breakout desired.
- Go to the Time From and Time To section underneath the Day Part coloured squares on the left hand side
- At Time From - enter the start time of the day part
- At Time To - enter the end time of the day part
- Click Add. This will add a new day part in the selected pane. It can be renamed if required by clicking on it and then typing in a new name.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for each day part required. They will be added to the selected pane on the right.
Please note - if you needed to add the day part 'Peak' from 6pm to 10.30pm you would enter 6pm at Time From and 10.29pm at Time To. If you entered 10.30 it will include the next period block. For example, if your period size is set to Quarter Hour it will also include the period block from 10:30:00 to 10:44:59, whereas if your period size is set to Half Hour it will also include the period block from 10:30:00 to 10:59:59.
