Key Landsberry & James products include its advertising expenditure and monitoring software, AdQuest Millennium, and television ratings analysis suite, AdQuest eTAM. Landsberry & James also offers an international service to harmonise and blend research data from multiple countries into a single reporting database that can then be analysed and dissected using the Group’s key products, or bespoke software created by Landsberry & James.

Landsberry & James has an extensive client base consisting of the major media owners, media agents and media agencies in Australia, and a similar base of clients throughout the world.

Media research and software development veterans, David Landsberry and Ian James, launched Landsberry & James in January 1992 with two staff, two clients and a PC-based reporting tool for advertising expenditure data they called AdQuest.

The success of AdQuest stemmed from its unique ability to index millions of advertisements and allow instant, flexible reporting via a PC (Windows) platform. This was a major step forward in a world of mainframes, hard copy reports and set formats. By early 1993 AdQuest was being delivered to all major media agencies, publishers and broadcasters in Australia.

AdQuest’s rapid adoption as a ‘must-have’ tool demonstrates Landsberry & James’ intuitive and innovative approach to integrating and delivering client solutions, a tradition that continues to this day.

The company has expanded dramatically since launching, but its goals remain:

  • To develop and market packaged (but customisable) media software systems internationally;
  • To provide superior consultancy, project management and development services to the media industry; and
  • To remain at the forefront of technology, develop innovative solutions and ensure that Landsberry & James software continues to outclass its competitors.
