AdQuest Millennium & AdQuest eXtreme (AQX) The Landsberry & James Group is an Australian independent business that designs, develops and markets industry-leading media analysis software and services. Continuing the Group’s dedication to consistently review, enhance and improve its product range, Landsberry & James released the beta version of AdQuest eXtreme (AQX) in May, 2009. AQX is the fifth generation of Landsberry & James’ advertising expenditure and monitoring software, AdQuest Millennium. It uses the Nielsen Media Research database of Australian advertising activity, which is the Australian benchmark for estimating advertising expenditure and volume across mainstream media. AdQuest Millennium has for many years been the software of choice for every major Australian media agency, television network and publisher. The first version, AdQuest, was released to the industry in 1993, and the product has been marketed internationally since 1995. Overseas, Nielsen Media Research provides AdQuest Millennium to customers of its advertising expenditure and monitoring services in China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, New Zealand and Italy. AdQuest Millennium also incorporates television ratings (sourced from OzTAM and Nielsen Media Research) and applies these ratings against advertisements that air so that schedule delivery and effectiveness can be analysed. AdQuest Millennium further utilises television elemental ratings data (via an online link with Landsberry & James’ eTAM ratings engine) so that reach and frequency analysis can be performed. AdQuest Millennium is a Windows product that is installed at each client’s premises and seamlessly ‘talks across the web’ with Landsberry & James’ centralised AdQuest Millennium server to process and retrieve data from the Landsberry & James-designed database. For all intents and purposes, customers enjoy an application that feels as though it resides fully on the user’s own network, even though the data and a large amount of processing occur at a remote location. Landsberry & James has a proprietary communication layer that sits over the top of standard internet access technologies to provide this functionality. Landsberry & James’ initial beta presentation of AQX is being warmly received in Australian media agencies, by media owners and overseas by Nielsen Media Research in China, Nielsen Media Research in Italy and Nielsen Global AdView in the Netherlands. The beta version of AQX gives clients a taste of what is to come and to provide feedback that Landsberry & James will take on board when completing the system for final release, planned for late July, 2009. Landsberry & James has been developing AQX for the past 30 months, undertaking a complete redesign and redevelopment of the entire client interface, confirming the company’s dedication to keeping its software ‘best of breed’ – both in Australia and internationally. Landsberry & James is also well advanced on the redesign and redevelopment of the AdQuest Millennium server component, which will be completed in late November, 2009 and will further improve processing speeds and capacity. In mid-2009 Landsberry & James will embark on an international road show with AQX to existing customers and to investigate potential new markets. Ideally, Landsberry & James will look to work with local partners in these new markets. Overall, AdQuest eXtreme offers great productivity benefits for users of advertising expenditure and monitoring data. Every element of the existing AdQuest Millennium was considered and as a result AQX does everything better, faster and more simply. It provides advanced data analysis features but in such a simple manner that even a novice user can create complex, presentation quality analysis with ease. Some of the AQX features include:
At the core of AQX is a new framework Landsberry & James has developed called ‘Fusion’: an integrated platform in which future Landsberry & James products will be included. Clients will be able to open Fusion and immediately analyse a variety of data sources in a consistent and cohesive interface. Landsberry & James is currently completing its new eTAM Analyzer ratings analysis module that will slot seamlessly into the Fusion framework alongside AdQuest eXtreme. Fusion will make it easier to integrate data from different data suppliers into coherent and meaningful analyses. Landsberry & James’ ultimate goal is a single solution encompassing all aspects of a media user’s day to day work, be it AdEx data, television, radio or internet ratings, print and even sales data.
